Down Makes a Difference
So what exactly is down? Down is the light and fluffy feathers found on ducks and geese, primarily on and around their chests. It helps to keep the birds warm while also helping waterfowl remain buoyant. Down should not be confused with duck feathers - both come from birds and are types of feathers, but are not the same texture, size, or shape. Down feathers are considerably softer and wispier with a more rounded shape; picture down as the fluff of a dandelion rather than the traditional flat feather shape. Down feathers also have much smaller and softer quills than regular bird feathers. The unique shape and texture of down feathers yields superior softness and fluffiness as a pillow filling, plus they retain their shape better with age and use than synthetics.

Also, we know a pillow isn’t a great pillow unless it’s got plenty of fluff, so that’s why we stuffed ours with a generous 900 - 2200 grams of down/feather fill, depending on the size of the pillow you order.
